Time
January for spring semester / July for fall semester (See the Academic Calendar).
How to apply
- For department transfer, change in major, and special temporary absence, students shall download associated forms in the Forms section of the Graduate School homepage and submit it to the Graduate School office.
- How to apply for temporary absence (return) online: Go to 종합정보시스템(Comprehensive Information System) → Select your status (e.g. graduate student) → Click on ‘Academics’→ Apply for temporary absence (return).
- Those intending to take temporary absence or return shall obtain approval from their department head or academic advisor.
After the commencement of a semester
- Those who attend courses for at least one-fourth of the total number of school days during a semester are eligible to apply for temporary absence.
- How to apply: Download the form in the Forms section of the Graduate School homepage and submit it to the Graduate School office.
